Coffee Table
This live edge walnut coffee table originated as two separate off-cuts from a much larger slab. When placed side-by-side, the two complemented each other so well as to blend together into a single piece. This very rarely works out so well and makes this table one of a kind.

Flattened with a hand plane and sanded smooth.
The bottom side of the crack has a long walnut patch hidden away to keep it structurally in place. Meanwhile the top has been stabilized with hand cut red elm bowties. It rests on a more modern version of the trestle-style base utilizing charred white ash. Originally it was used as a way to preserve and protect wood. Shou Sugi Ban; the process of charring the outer layer of wood, reveals a much more exaggerated texture to the wood grain.
